The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) continues to recommend that unvaccinated people get vaccinated.
Your respiratory illness might be the flu if you have fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. If you are sick with flu, stay home from school and work to prevent spreading the flu to others. The CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone. Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Good hand washing is important to help prevent the spread of the flu.
For information regarding upcoming Flu Clinics please call the Woburn Board of Health Nurse, Karen DeCampo @ 781-897-5928 or go towww.cityofwoburn.com. Most of the Flu clinics are for Woburn residents 5 years of age and older.
