Rotation Day #2

 

 

1.
Are you interested in helping resolve conflict at WMHS? Want to be part of a club that gives back to our school? How about learn valuable life skills like confidentiality and negotiation? 
Applications for next year's group of WMHS Peer Mediators are now available! Please see Mrs. Cardoso in room E227 or Mrs. DiLuna in room D302 for an application or with any questions. Required paperwork MUST be returned no later than 2p.m. on Friday, April 26 to be considered.

 

2.
Senior Obligations - Seniors please check your school email.  If you are on the obligation list an email has been sent out to you listing your obligation that MUST be cleared up before finals start.  Please check your emails, if you did not receive an email then you have no obligations.

 

3.
Talent show tickets are now being sold in the cafeteria during all three lunches. Tickets are $5 and the talent show will be on Friday, April 12th, during periods six and seven.

 

4.
This year's Junior Prom will be held on Friday, May 3rd, from 6-11 p.m. at the Boston/Woburn Hilton.  Tickets will be on sale starting next Thursday, April 11th. The last day to buy your tickets will be April 26th. Tickets are $65.00 each and will be sold in room E317 (Mrs. Lynch's room) before school from 7:00 to 7:25 a.m. and after school until 2:15. Please do not come during school hours. You must have a signed dance contract on file in order to buy a ticket.  
**Checks can be made out to the Class of 2020.

Author Jenna Blums will be visiting WMHS on April 30th and talking during periods 6 and 7 in the auditorium.  If you want to attend, please get a permission form from outside Mrs. McMahan’s room H406.  All are welcome with a permission slip or to come with your teachers

Accompanying them to Boston were Banking teacher Stephen Sullivan, 
Rockland Trust Supervisor Carol McCarthy, and Daniel Kitiibwa from the WPMC.
 
Woburn Memorial High School Banking 2 students Earn 2nd Place Finish at Mass School Bank Association’s Banking Competition
On Friday April 5th Woburn Memorial High School students Courtney Barretto, Leka Berisha, Stephanie Kirabo, Marina Rufo, and Chris Sweeney from Mr. Sullivan’s Banking 2 class came in second place in the Mass School Bank Association’s 2019 Banking Bowl competition!  The Banking Bowl is an educational competition held each year at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in which approximately 30 teams from schools all across Massachusetts compete against each other answering a variety of banking and other financial services questions.  The students, who are part of the Banking 2 program, are employees of Rockland Trust and work a couple of days each week in the Woburn Memorial High School branch of Rockland Trust that is managed by Branch Supervisor Carol McCarthy.   The Banking 2 program offers five high quality senior students each year the unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the Banking industry by attending class with Mr. Sullivan and working in the school bank with supervisor Carol McCarthy.  The Rockland Trust branch at Woburn Memorial High School is a full service financial institution open Monday – Friday from 10:15 am to 12:45 pm for Woburn Memorial High School staff and students to use!   

 

8.
The support group for students living with a loved one or who has lost a loved one to cancer is scheduled Fri 4/12 in the main office conference room.  New members always welcome.  See Mrs. Baccari for questions in guidance
