The Department of Building Facilities is responsible for the cleaning, interior and exterior maintenance, and construction in all of the Woburn Public School buildings. Among the many areas of responsibility are general building repairs, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system maintenance and upgrades, electrical and lighting system maintenance and upgrades, painting, door repair and replacement, snow removal, grounds keeping, parking lot repair and many, many more. The challenge of achieving these tasks in twelve schools with over a million square feet of interior building space is accomplished by a staff of forty-two custodians, two HVAC mechanics, one electrician, three general maintenance workers, one administrative assistant and one director.
