Welcome to the Altavesta School Nurse Page

". . . you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world."

~Harriet Tubman

School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. It is my goal to strive to promote physical, social, emotional health and well-being of all students so the student learner can access all components of the curriculum and achieve their optimal learning potential. I am committed to the enhancement of the health and well-being of our students and to decreasing the impact of a student’s health concerns/constraints on learning.  Healthy Children Are Better Learners!

Some of the daily services the Altavesta School Nurse provides include, but are not limited to, illness and injury assessments and interventions; health assessments and participation in development of Individualized Education Plans, and 504 plans for students with special health care needs; screening for health factors impacting student learning; chronic disease management and education (for example, Asthma, Food Allergies, Diabetic care) and administering medications on a daily or as needed basis.

I can be reached during school hours at 781-937-8235 x19154
